This is a journey to becoming a leader. You begin by sharpening your coastal skills: reading surf, currents, and navigation until the big lakes feel less like a threat and more like an ally. From there, advanced strokes and two real expeditions test your judgment as much as your endurance. Next, the horizon widens: trip planning, risk management, and the kind of leadership that holds a group together on longer journeys. Finally, for those ready to step into guiding or coaching, the Leadership Endorsement offers mentorship and a practicum, a way to give back to the community while carrying others forward.

What makes this program unique is that it is powered by ORCKA, Paddle Canada, CanBoat, and Kayak Ontario. By combining four highly recognized frameworks, we have created Canada’s most comprehensive pathway to sea kayak leadership. It is a rare opportunity, and space is limited.
