This package allows your organization to offer a Waterfront, Basic or Paddle Canada Level 1 skills course.
Price includes:
  • You can brand your course without our branding present.
  • Marketing material.
  • Social media posts will help fill the course.
  • One certified PC coach for the course length. The course can have up to six students.
  • Course plan.
  • Course registration.
    • We require 30 days' notice to book. We will do our best to accommodate your chosen dates.

The MSRP for the course is $279 per student + rental for Level 1 and $199.99 for Basic, but you are free to charge more if you would like.

We will offer the following:
These two-day introductory kayaking lessons are tailored to new kayakers looking to learn the required skills to plan and take their day trips in Level 1 conditions.
What does that mean? At the end of this class, you will be able to:
  • Understand the basics of Sea Kayaking. 
  • Control your kayak in level 1 (out of 4) conditions.
  • Learn the following paddling strokes:
    • Forward and backward strokes
    • Bracing
    • Edging
    • Turning
  • Safely recover in case of a capsize. (What would you do if you fell in the water?)
    • Wet exit
    • Various re-entry techniques (self and assisted)

For the purposes of this class, you will require: Full List

  • A sea kayak with two bulkheads. 
    • We have rental kayaks available if you do not have your own.
    • You will need a pump, a whistle, and a 15-m floating rope, which are available to purchase.
  • Dry suits are available if required.
  • A PFD is mandatory; you must bring your own.
  • A paddle.
  • Sunscreen.
  • Lunch.
  • Water.

 

During this class, you will:

  • Get wet.
    • Bring spare clothes and a towel.
    • Cotton is not appropriate.
    • Have fun.
      • We will incorporate games, group activities and drills to learn the topics.
    • Make friends.
      • You will meet a group of similar kayakers at the same point in their development.

     

      Upon completion, you will receive:

      • A Paddle Canada Level 1 Sea Kayak Skills Certificate.

      The course will run rain or shine. We will postpone in the case of prolonged thunderstorms.

       

      This class should be fun, laid back, and offered as a positive, inclusive experience. We will incorporate games, group activities and real-world scenarios as much as possible. We will only put you on the spot if you demonstrate in front of the class (unless you want to) or speak in front of crowds. If that and the promise of terrible Dad jokes appeal to you, you have found the place to sign up.
