Get ready for the season!
Spring Tune-Up is a relaxed, skills-refresh weekend designed to shake off the winter rust and get you paddling confidently again. Think of it as a mini adventure focused on fun, exploration, and rebuilding your comfort on the water.
We’ll run day paddles, navigation refreshers, and learning scenarios, along with hands-on sessions in camp craft, fire making, and tarp setups. It’s the perfect way to reconnect with your paddling community and ease back into open water before summer.
This event is limited to 16 participants to promote enhanced engagement and participation. **

This event is ideal for paddlers with Level 1 or higher skills, or those preparing for a Level 2 course this year.

Sheltered bays and crystal-clear water make this the perfect spot for navigation exercises and relaxed exploration. -
Flowerpot Island
Famous for its sea stacks and turquoise shallows, this area is ideal for refining boat control and situational awareness in gentle swell. -
Bruce Peninsula National Park
Rugged cliffs and open-coast paddling provide opportunities to practice group management and coastal touring skills. -
Lion’s Head
A scenic stretch of shoreline where you can work on edging, bracing, and confidence in open-water crossings. -
Cape Croker (Neyaashiinigmiing)
Experience the cultural and natural beauty of this region while honing rescue and teamwork skills in dynamic conditions. -
Black Creek Provincial Park
A quiet, protected setting that’s perfect for fine-tuning navigation, launching, and landing techniques. -

Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that our courses in Tobermory take place on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabewaki, the Odawa, and the Mississauga peoples, as well as the Saugeen Ojibway Nation — the Chippewas of Saugeen First Nation and the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation. This land is covered by Treaty 45 ½, signed in 1836.
We are especially grateful to spend part of this course in Neyaashiinigmiing, home of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation, whose deep connections to these lands and waters continue today.
