Advanced Flatwater Stand Up Paddleboard Skills - Hamilton/Niagara
These one-day (6-hour) SUP lessons are perfect for individuals building their paddleboarding skills to be more comfortable on the water. By the end of this course, you will be proficient in the fundamentals of paddleboarding and essential paddling techniques such as forward, backward, and sweep strokes, breaking, and turning. Additionally, you will learn how to recover safely in the event of a fall.
For this class, you will require:
- A paddleboard (rental included in fee).
- You will need a leash, a whistle, and a 15-meter floating rope, which can be purchased.
- Dry suits are available if required.
- A PFD is mandatory; you must bring your own.
- A paddle.
- Sunscreen.
- Lunch.
- Water.
During this class, you will:
- Get wet.
- Bring spare clothes and a towel.
- Cotton is not appropriate.
- Have fun.
- We will incorporate games, group activities and drills to learn the topics.
- Make friends.
- You will meet a group of kayakers similar to you at the same point in their development.
Upon completion, you will receive:
- An Advanced Flatwater Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Skills Award.
The course will run rain or shine. We will postpone in the case of prolonged thunderstorms.
