16 Mile Creek, Jordan Station

16 Mile Creek, Jordan Station

Trip Rating: 3.5/5

On weeknight paddles, I try to find short routes that still feel rewarding. Sixteen Mile Creek (the Niagara one, not Oakville) ended up being a perfect fit. The small pond, the dried-up side channels, and a surprisingly scenic island made this a quick but memorable paddle. I’ll be heading back in the spring to see what those creeks look like at higher water.

Launch Sites

The launch is a relatively new dock, but parking is… creative. You park on the shoulder of the service road and walk down a small hill to the water. Instead of a drawn map, here’s the launch perspective — you can even see my truck in the background.

Coordinates: 43.1729411, -79.3327412

Trip Length

The full loop around the pond is about 5 km and takes roughly an hour, depending on how much time you spend exploring the island or investigating the channels.

Cost: $0

Difficulty: Generally calm and beginner-friendly, but use proper gear and be mindful of conditions.
